Some of the Unseen Liminality Entities are a threat to all players, so it’s best to know how to counter them to avoid a failed run. Unseen Liminality fans most likely already enjoy the Backrooms, but if not, then I recommend delving into the lore.

How to Survive All Entities in Unseen Liminality

There are 7 entities in Unseen Liminality at this current time; some are hostile, and some simply don’t care about your presence. For a full survival guide, check out our Unseen Liminality Walkthrough.

The Mimic

  • Spawns in the Terror Hotel or The Lobby

If you stand within 100 studs of a specific, often invisible part, the Mimic spawns and summons someone from your friend’s list. Don’t be fooled by the in-game chat message saying a friend has joined; it’s another trick.

After spawning, the Mimic stares at you and slowly moves towards you. If it gets close enough, it turns into a shadow form and tries to attack you. If it does hit you, you lose 50 HP. Luckily, after one hit, the Mimic disappears.

The best way to survive against the Mimic is by keeping as far away from it as possible. Keep a close eye on any in-game notifications or chat messages saying that a friend has joined. It’s most likely the Mimic playing tricks.

SpongeBob Balloon

  • Spawns in The Lobby

Floating around, the SpongeBob balloon makes its way towards you. It’s actually not a hostile entity, and this also includes its ‘Evil’ variant. This second variant appears behind windows in The Lobby.

If the SpongeBob Balloon manages to touch you, nothing happens apart from an audio being played, which is of SpongeBob shouting, “I’m SpongeBob!”

Because of their non-hostile behaviour, there’s no need to counter this entity. The initial jump scare of the balloon shouting might get you, but other than that, there’s no risk to your character in-game.

The Moving Mannequins

  • Spawns in the Dead Mall or the Terror Hotel

When you are not looking at the Mannequins, they move. As of right now, they are not hostile, but they are pretty creepy. They don’t attack you, but they do follow you around if you’re looking away from them. There’s a theory that they become hostile if you take a picture of them, but this has not been confirmed.

Again, like the SpongeBob Balloon, there’s no need to counter this entity. You can play the game as usual.

Flinging Chair

  • Spawns in the Dead Mall

This metallic chair can throw itself against walls, creating a loud noise. It has an undetermined path, so it can accidentally hit you, which deals 14 DMG.

Countering the Flinging Chair is somewhat easy: just listen for the sounds it makes. If it sounds close by, be wary and keep an eye out.

Shadow

  • Spawns in the Dead Mall

The Shadow tends to hide from players. This entity does not attack you, and instead, it instantly hides if you spot it.

Being of no threat, you can play as usual even if you spot the Shadow.

Die Dice

  • Spawns in The Lobby or The Poolrooms

An inconspicuous dice that waits for your arrival. If you press E on your keyboard, the dice rolls. Rolling a 1 causes it to explode, instantly defeating you. The explosion can also wipe out any players close to you.

To avoid the Die Dice, ignore it when you see it. Do not interact with it or roll it.

Still Life

  • Spawns in the Liminal Home

Taking inspiration from the Still Lives from the Backrooms, the Still Life in Unseen Liminality acts similarly. It walks around with a humanoid appearance. If it sees you, it screams and runs towards you. Once it attacks, it instantly defeats you.

One of the more difficult entities, you should make use of vents and tunnels to hide from the Still Life, especially if it has already spotted you. The entity is extremely fast, so it’s all about staying hidden so it doesn’t see you.
