When Light Fades, What Remains?
Action adventure Light Odyssey is an upcoming title on PC. Actually, the game was planned for a 2024 release. But it’s now getting a release by the end of this year. It’s from developer SSUN Games and published under Gravity.
The devs recently shared a glimpse into some of the features. It has a dark, stripped-down premise where everything revolves around survival. The protagonist is Bandi, a creature who’s the last spark of light in a dark universe.
Civilisation doesn’t exist in this world anymore, and what’s left is a fading glow on the last remaining planet. That small bit of light pushes the journey forward, as Bandi moves through the remains of a world swallowed by shadows.
Light Odyssey is an action adventure with a soulslike boss rush with the Colossi. Colossi are massive, hostile forces that see Bandi as something that shouldn’t even exist. Their role is to wipe out what little light remains.
The scale difference is a big part of the fights, as you take down enemies dozens of times larger than you. Every battle plays out across three distinct phases, and each phase requires new attack patterns and different pacing.

Between fights, you can explore ruins left behind by a long-lost civilisation. It involves deciphering symbols and languages spread across the environment. You piece together the origins of the Colossi and the source of their power, like the giant statue guarding one of these forgotten places.
And as evident from the trailers, the game’s visuals reflect the contrast between light and darkness. Mechanics also extend into progression, letting you discover different combat skills and traits that help in fights. You can check out the game on Steam and wishlist it if you like what you see.
