SecretBuilders: Learn, play and create

In 2006, CEO Umair Khan hatched a concept for a virtual world that would expose kids to literature, music and fine art by encouraging them to explore their own creativity through drawing, writing, publishing and community participation. The result is SecretBuilders, a browser-based MMO where players have a direct impact on how the world evolves, looks and plays. (Read more.)

Social Saturdays: Pet Society

 

 

Ever wanted a pet but just didn't have the space, time or money to raise one? Well, if you're a Facebook user all you need is a few minutes per day to make a cute and cuddly bunny, kitten, puppy or even a bear happy in the new year.

The game is Pet Society, a cute little world created by Playfish, a social game company founded by casual and mobile industry veterans.

iPhone Fridays: Take Fish Tycoon with you!

The first time I played a game on the iPhone, I remember thinking:  this would be such a great device for Last Day of Work’s (LDW) real-time game environments.  The folks of LDW must have come up with the same obvious conclusion, because they recently launched their virtual fish-breeding game, Fish Tycoon, for the iPhone/iTouch.
